Colony Brands is a 90-year-old company that started as a mail-order catalog but now receives orders through three channels: phone, mail and online. It sells a wide variety of products from food to clothing to home goods under a number of recognized brands. The retailer faces particular challenges tied to dramatic seasonal spikes in order volume and frequent inventory turnover – 60 percent of the products offered change every three months when new catalogs are released.
