I recently read that the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) is receiving an additional $39M to implement the government’s initiative for food and beverage traceability. The article indicated that the funding will be focused on hiring an additional 2,000 inspectors.
The vast majority of food and beverage companies’ measures will exceed the minimum standards set forth by the FSMA. The question is not whether you are compliant but whether you can show that you are compliant or how quickly and easily this can be done.
A warehouse management system (WMS) could be the answer to making sure that compliance is verifiable quickly and easily. There are very few WMS that offer enough visibility and traceability to satisfy FSMA requirements. HighJump Software has a very strong track record in this arena.
Our software has been selected time and time again by leading food distributors, manufacturers and retailers. Our implementation with Richmond Cold Storage won us an award. Bellisio Foods uses our manufacturing execution system (MES). Earthbound Farm managed an unfortunate recall successfully using our supply chain management software.
To learn more about how our manufacturing execution system (MES), warehouse management system (WMS) and direct store delivery (DSD) can ease your inspection worries, take a moment to read our food traceability whitepaper (registration required).
